WHY, Question?

For so long, human progress has been dictated by a single force, or a burning thought.

It always starts with a “Question
Why, What, How, Who and When?

In today’s society and reality, most people I know, have stopped asking questions. They seem to avoid the questions that really perplex and assuage changes in their psyche; most afraid to come to a realization that will make them go;

Hey! What if...

That is the beginning of exploration and possibility...

This awakening has brought about constant evolution & progress (*perspective) in our cultures, technology and humanity as a whole. The power of “Questions” is, in my mind an under-rated and unappreciated facet of the human condition. Our willingness to take on new and exciting arenas is often juxtaposed with danger and risk. Most people find this a struggle, until they start questioning the status quo; but more importantly, start questioning themselves and their inner thoughts.

So unless, we start questioning with new fervor and enthusiasm, we will stay in a conundrum, a diffident existence.

So I say now, what if...?

“What is the first business of one who practices philosophy? To get rid of self-conceit. For it is impossible for anyone to begin to learn that which he thinks he already knows.”

Quote from Epictetus

“Truth is not born nor is it to be found inside the head of an individual person, it is born between people collectively searching for truth, in the process of their dialogic interaction.” (Bakhtin, Dialogic Imagination,110).

Introduction of Spiral Inquiry

What is Spiral Inquiry?

Spiral Inquiry exist as:
1. An Inquiry into Life and all the questions that surround it.
2. A spiral; (revolutions that has a start, and an end) - Something i hope we can achieve together,
A result of our discussions and Dialogs with a positive life experience.
3. A space to share your life experiences and insights. Wisdom.

Why?

I can't seem to find any groups of people to talk and discuss about philosophy and life.
So why not just start my very own. The point is to encourage people as well as myself to uncover the meanings of being human and how we relate and communicate with our existence in all it's forms.

All its Forms?
I contest, that we exist in 3 forms simultaneously at any given moment.

1. The world inside of us - Matter, Organic, Emotions, etc
2. The world outside of us - Society, Mores, Culture, Environment, etc
3. The world of Ideas - Law, Love, Friendship, Death, etc

So what if we discuss and dwell into all of the Above?

Have you heard the term, "Knowledge is power"?
The more we understand, the more choices we have, the better our power to create our highest lives become.
Choice = Freedom.
We all long to be free.

My invitation.

My Indulgence of Self

I am an idea.
An abstract thought, expressed into an organic animate form.
Expressing myself, a task I undertake with passion and verve.
That is the point of my existence - to relate, to connect and to express.

Why Philosophy?
It is not as so much of the intellectual discourse of some contextual knowledge, not even the logical rational technique of philosophy in which I strengthen my mind and reasoning.

No, it is not which I can learn in a library. I desire to know what these greatest of "The Great Men" have placed upon our collective consciousness, our mental palates. For millennial, these men have lead revolutions/evolutions in the human psyche. I desire to know in totality(or at least as much as possible) exactly, what has been put forth - thus knowing where and how I can put forth of myself; in the quest for truth.

To put aside my quenching and indulgent "ego", I refuse to submit my existence as a meaningless acceptance of opinions, propaganda and subjugation; without first fully immersing myself in the understanding of the truth behind it all.

I have been given breathe to use as I please.

I have chosen to use my life as a beacon of elevating humanity. For we have progressed in tremendous length and depth in the sciences, in our creature comforts and the like. We have surpassed our level of technology beyond our basic understanding of it's benefits or banes. We have progressed collectively in all areas except "Basic Human thought".

Our virtues and purpose of being human has deteriorated - equal to our degradation of our environments, ecosystems and natural habitats. This to my knowledge, is the result of our lack of understanding. There is no purpose in advancement without the knowledge of why and the truth on a fundamental level.

Philosophy, is meant to somehow bridge that gap and maybe, bring about a realistic-reality of Men Being Men and not being a parasite or a plaguing disease. For I know I am not alone in this quest, but alone must I walk this path.

Philosophy will be my guiding light.

"It is easy in the world to live after the world's opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude."

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
